so since buying my TJ i’m finally able to use it to go snowboarding. this year i’m tasked with do i buy a cheap roof rack for the hardtop? i don’t wanna drill of put holes in my so i’m thinking of a couple different mounting ideas. i could obviously fit in on top of inside but that uses up way too much room. would this be sturdy enough? i gave it a couple dad shakes after tightening and it seemed fine.

When I was riding out 4 hours to NC to board I had mine strapped down between the spare and the body with ratchet straps kinda like that. Stayed fine. Though I only did that because I had other shit inside, if you can it’s probably better to keep it in. Dig the Donut sticker tho.

As for that setup, maybe it makes more sense to use 3 straps?

One goes around the spare and over two perpendicular straps that go over the board.

I think you can also use a spare tire mounted bike rack. I thought I saw a Thule ski rack option for mine

like around the front of the tire? have a strap at the top and bottom?
Put the bottom of the board flat against the front of the tire a one strap just below the top binding and one just above the bottom binding? Maybe run the straps through the holes in the rim and around the tire carrier?

Can you use a soft rack like the type for surfboards on the roof?
