How long ago did you make the purchase? I called them a few weeks ago, they couldn't tell me how long it was going to be until the cores were back in stock.I got mine from Performance radiator, it's working great so far
Definitely not.Any good quality heater cores out there cheaper that OEM for a 2005 4.0 TJ?
That's my plan for now. Hopefully they'll be back in stock soon.If you have time, I recommend waiting on performance radiator to get some in stock. They usually ship quickly. It’s a great product.
The 2005 discussed in this thread is standard construction just like any other cheap replacement, plastic top and aluminum core. Not too sure about the older unit but since not too many people make the pinched plastic deals in shop I'd guess they just get an import core and maybe test it for you just like the $35 one on Rockauto. Can anyone confirm what material Performance Radiator uses? The photo on their website appears to be an aluminum heater core?
Yes, thank you! Brass Works was the other vendor I'd heard about but couldn't remember the name. It appears they make everything to order. According to their website most heater cores take 18-20 weeks... ouch.Brassworks in CA has heater cores available for 1997-2001 and 2002-2006. Ive never used them but they are copper/brass.
Just pick up a short hose barb. You can actually connect the upper and lower heater hoses to create the bypass. Reuse your existing clamps. This thread reminds me I need to make a bypass and toss it in my toolbox.
Guy on here has one and said it didn’t heat like the stock oneYes, thank you! Brass Works was the other vendor I'd heard about but couldn't remember the name. It appears they make everything to order. According to their website most heater cores take 18-20 weeks... ouch.

Looks like really nice stuff but not cheap.
Wow, never heard of them so I looked them up. They offer a few options on the heater core including a copper version for $160.Maybe Radiator Express?
