2005 Rubicion Auto Trans with O/D

I’m having and issue with my Rubicon auto trans. It started as a minor “slip”. Occasionally when I put it in drive, it took a few seconds before it engaged and I started moving. This was always when I first started the Jeep, never after it warmed up.

Today I got in and drove maybe 1/4 mile to a stop sign. I stopped, looked both ways and pressed the gas. The engine revved but the Jeep didn’t move. I tried a few more times same result. I put it in reverse and still nothing. I put it in neutral pushed it out of the road. For giggles I put it back in drive; this time it worked fine and I drove it home.

I should mention I had the tranny serviced (fluid and filter change) less than 1k miles ago.

Any thoughts?

Check the ECU 32 pin harness connector pins and clips (specifically the far right connector) for oxidation and ensure the harness connectors are firmly snapped into the ECU receptacles.
Verify the level of ATF in the transmission to ensure the level is between the marks. Engine warmed up idling in PARK on level ground to check the fluid level.

X2, step one is to check its ATF level. As above, make sure the engine is RUNNING and the transmission is in Park while you check the dipstick. The ATF level needs to be all the way to the Full line. If it's any below the full line add ATF+4 until it is full. It's better for an automatic transmission to be overfilled than to be even slightly underfilled.
