Wildman's TJ is getting a face lift

Brings back memories of painting my first car when I was in high school. Take your time and pay attention to the weather/cure time between layers.

Good luck 👍🏼

I'm nervous as heck about trying this. But as I keep telling myself it's not a show rig just a trail rig so it doesn't have to be perfect. I just wish it was warmer weather so I wasn't fighting it.

Have you decided on a color? Are you going back with white or going to change the color?

The fenders and corner armor are going to be body color White. The flares are going to be Black. I'm also going to paint the aluminum Savvy sliders White and the steel slider Black.

The bumpers are going to be Steel It Black and I'll use that paint on the axles also.
Then some of the smaller parts will be done in the Steel It Gray.

Stormtrooper!

Call it Michael for Michael Jackson

The Mad Cow name was coined by my son so I let him use the name and would sometimes also but as I said naming rigs isn't my thing. I'll call them all sorts of names when they break or are acting up but those ain't used all the time.

Working on getting any last minute stuff done. Drilled out the holes for the license plate mount on the drivers side corner. Should have already bought the metal for the lower filler plate but forgot about it. I can always shoot it with primer later. The main objective now is to get the frame done so I can get the engine reinstalled and then the transmission and transfer case so I can TRY to get it all hooked up and be able to test fire the engine.

Oh man, I just watched that whole video. Say what you want about ole' MJ, but the man had talent.

Fuck I hate this shit.... Getting old ain't for the weak..

Had to quit early due to my back/leg acting up. I'll go back out around 9PM and turn the heaters on so stuff is warmed up for tomorrow. I've got to get everything wiped down and then prepped and can then paint if it's warm enough.

Damn it was 37* @ 4 AM this morning and only up to 52* @ 10 AM. It's a beautiful day outside with no wind but while it might hit 70* at some point my concern is that it's going to be cold again at night and I can't keep the garage above 70*. Right now it's 66* inside the garage and I've got the heaters turned up just above 60%. Tuesday & Wednesday night is only suppose to get down to 50* at night and above 70* during the day so I might have to wait until then to try painting. Once I get the primer done I've got some fast activater for the chassis black & body color & clear paint so it could be a little cooler then.

When it comes to paint, I would wait for better weather.

Wait. I just had to do my drivers floor pan over and I am sure it was due to trying to do it during the winter even in my heated shop since I could only get it into the low 60s. Lucky enough it was 75f in the shade here yesterday.

That's just wrong. Warmer in Alaska than it is here in WA. I'm going to wait but it isn't one of my better qualities.
