It seems Polaris is selling trans American auto parts, the parent company of SMITTYBILT, PRO COMP®, RUBICON EXPRESS, POISON SPYDER™, G2™, and 4WP FACTORY to Wheel pros and Clearlake investment firm. Not sure what the hell that means, but I thought I’d post it here since most of us probably have a couple of their parts.

Polaris’ s future is the Razor and the Slingshot- the sling shot is the most dangerous thing I’ve ever seen - it sits too low to be around cars and trucks.

If you’ve ever used the Turo app, slingshots are in most warm cities for rent and are usually fairly inexpensive per day. It might be fun, but I’d kind of feel like a douche driving one… also, They are big in the snowmobile game, don’t blame you for not being into all that, Alabama and all.

One of the articles I was reading said Polaris sold it for half what they bought it for. I’m sitting at a bar in the airport, so I have time to read into bull shit.

I'm sure it means the stellar service that we've all come to expect from 4wheelparts is going to get nothing but better. I've had some recent interactions that were nothing short of ridiculous. I really hope this makes things better but I am sold in denial with that.

Not if a venture capital firm is involved...usually the end of the line.

I saw a prestigious, well established ($50 million in annual sales) 70 year old, Jewish owned, flooring distributor sold to an investment firm- the owners sold it for so much it could not make its own payments on the debt incurred to buy it- gone in 3 years-

The first thing they always say to employees - “nothing is going to change “ . That one makes me pee myself with laughter.

The second one is -“ you will make more money under the new plan”. Yeah right. If you were making no money before you might.

yeah in this case they will sell off each part, finagle a tax loss and screw everyone. Seen it many times, sum of the parts is worth many more the the whole entity.

My invoices from Transamerican, now come DSI (Dealer Services International) I don’t think they will fold. It is a huge entity moving titles and money to leverage the current economy. But that just the opinion of a 40 year veteran of the industry. You all know what they say about options.

My local 4WP used to be Conejo Off Road. Mike, the co-owner and I had the same high school auto shop teacher. It isn't much fun seeing what it's become but I guess there are worse things in life.

Somebody drove a J series Jeep with the shop colors and name for years after they were bought but I don't remember ever seeing the CJ or YJ race Jeeps. I think the owner of the shop across the street, Road 'N Truck, bought the Savvy LJ that won KOH stock class and it sat in front of the shop for a few years. I'd stop and look it over when I was in the neighborhood and had time to spare. It's too bad I missed the older Jeeps.
