I have a 97 with a 4 inch lift. I am looking to buy a rim with 20x10 with a -12-inch offset and a 5-inch backspacing with 35x 12.5 tires. Am I going to be okay with this setup or am I going to need a spacer?

that works out to a 5" backspacing and you're going to lose some turn radius from the tires hitting the control arms.

Generally with 35's you need 4" backspacing or less. So a 5" BS wheel calls for a 1" spacer.

So I'm assuming you will never take it off road? If so, you should never go larger than a 17" wheel. 20" is for the low rider/bass bumping crowd.

For backspacing, most go with 3.75" - 4.5".

No and yes, but it's still gonna look funny?
