Hardtop rear glass won't stay shut

Thanks for the info. Does water leak into that crevice at the left edge of that new seal you added? Or is the tailgate still open in that last pic? Hard to tell.
I've never had water leak through my top. Keep in mind, there is a seal attached to the bottom of the glass. This additional piece just serves to apply pressure to the glass and stop it from coming over the tailgate. This happens to some TJs, mostly when closing the door causes pressure inside the Jeep to push out on the glass.

I understand that, it looks like in the picture a gap has been created into the interior where all of those seals meet. That’s what I was asking but it sounds like you’re saying it does not leak there.

Nope, works great. Essentially, the factory design is the metal lip of the tailgate presses against the bottom rubber seal of the glass. With this piece added, you just have a rubber on rubber seal. Apparently there was a slight design flaw with the bottom edge of the glass. I think this may have been limited to 2004 before they changed it (I can't remember exactly which years were affected).

Great conversation - I put the brackets back on... The lip of the rear window fits into the area where the soft top window "bar" fit — sealed it right up.

I needed a little more pressure against my window to make it seal along the sides. So I made this pusher pad, mounted to the third brake light.

It gently pushes on the bottom metal edge of the window, pressing it against the seals.

Mr Fourpoint from TX. That seal strip you recommended from Amazon, that slides over the top of the tailgate? What keeps it in place?
