Looking to install my new Bestop RAT this weekend and thinking of replacing all the screws that attaches fabric to the header. Quick question is why two outer screws are different to the rest? Can I use these (1st picture) all across instead or must use (2nd picture) small button head for the most part and pan head for the two outer ones (Just like factory did)?

The only reason to not use the screws you purchased would be where the countersunk screw seat flush instead of resting on top of where it seats.
When I installed the Bestop sail cloth replacement top on my '01; I just reused the factory header screws.

While replacing the soft top I discovered the strapping material that creates the space between the center hoop and rear hoop was decomposing and required replacing. I drilled out the factory rivets to remove the remnants of the factory strapping, purchased about 8' of 2" wide strap material and reinstalled the new material using broad head stainless rivets.

Thanks Charles,

larger head diameter is the reason why I want to use those golden screws just to get more bite on the surface. However they do have slightly thinner head then the black factory screws as seen in the picture.

So I am getting that I must use countersunk screws on the two outermost locations, all other in the middle are flat bottom from the factory.
