I bought a pair of green half doors last year, and rattle can paint matched them to my silver PSB paint using paint from automotivetouchup paint. From the advice of a few members on here, I successfully matched them enough to my standards.

Since then, I have sold the TJ and got an LJ which is khaki metallic. I am asking from anyone on here who may have color matched khaki metallic before and how difficult it may be in comparison to silver. The process was cumbersome, but if I can save money I would do it again for the khaki metallic match. Also don't be fooled, I know nothing about painting, I honestly think I just got lucky with the silver.

I do not have an answer for you but I am interested in the outcome. I recently purchased an 02 TJ that has the same color and will be buying some rattle can oem color match paint too.
Please post your results!
Thanks!

I went to an auto paint store and had my paint color matched by them. Made up 4 cans of 2K paint and it was dead easy to use and a perfect match. Not cheap but *heaps* better than a normal rattlecan. 2 cans were needed per full door so slightly less for a half door.

Might be one of those things where you may be better off dropping it off to have it professionally done.

I bought a pair of green half doors and had those and a hood louvre done in Kahki Metallic that matched perfectly to the rest of my rig.

I just went through having a set of half doors repainted last summer...just haven't had a chance to write it up in my build thread yet.

The doors started off like this.

The paint guy used a paint matching camera to come up with the color match - so this formula is matched to the metallic khaki on my '05 LJR.

And this is how they ended up turning out - I am pretty pleased with the match. The doors look lighter in the photo only because they are perfectly clean and my Jeep was dusty/dirty. I did the interior door cards using the SEM rattle can paint and they also turned out very well.
