My rear washer pump died as well and I had to replace it. They're fairly inexpensive and you can replace yourself.

I found the replacement pumps don't spray nearly as well as the original. If anyone knows of a replacement that works well, please let me know.

I used this one from ACDelco and it seems to work as good as old one did, when it worked of course. Three bucks cheaper now than when I bought it in 2019.

Edit: I reused my original grommet because the new ones didn't fit as snug as they should.

Thanks, I may give that one a try and see how it works.

Both my front and rear went out a few years ago and I replaced both with Anco brand pumps. With either of them installed for the front windshield, the spray is so weak that the water barely makes it to the windshield. The original (when it worked) would spray so hard you could hear the water hit the windshield with force and it would splatter. Now if there's a crosswind the water may not even hit the windshield.

Edit: I changed the info above to show they were Anco pumps.

The higher mounted pump is for the rear window. As the fluid level decreases it would be the first one to not pump fluid. You would still have enough fluid for the windshield and it serves as a warning that it's time to fill the reservoir.

I bought pumps from NAPA (Balkamp brand - part #665-3902 - about $32 ea. CDN). They work well but the gaskets are a bad fit. They are not tight enough and leak. I used my old gaskets and I also pick up a few spares when I'm at a wrecking yard. They are the same on most jeeps of this era.
