Does this look like the factory shock, I know its a Mopar but could this shock be 24 years old? 99 TJ with 91.5K on it.
Thanks

When I put the first lift on my 99 back in 2021, it still had the original shocks and about 120k miles. I would not be surprised if these are the originals.

There are people who replace original parts with OEM parts so not necessarily 24 years old. Could actually be the sign of a very well maintained Jeep!

Bought her in Nov form a single family owner, very well maintained. They told me a list of thing they had recently done and shocks was not one of them. It rides, well like a JEEP..... So i was thinking about putting some Rancho5000x as I see they are very liked on this forum. Not ready to lift it yet, so just looking to improve the ride a bit. This is mainly an onroad vehicle with occasional forest service roads in North Ga mountains. Also not a daily driver.

Mine is also not lifted. I've been happy with Monroe OE Spectrum just to give you another option.

If they are not leaking or squeaking then they probably don't need to be replaced and you would be hard pressed to beat the fit, function, and quality of OEM parts.
