What are these engine markings?

This is just out of curiosity. Purchased a 2006 TJ a few months back. My Oil Pump Drive went out today and I was under the hood. I noticed that most engine parts had a dot on them and was done with various colors. Is this from the factory or ??? Just thought somebody might know. They didn't necessarily look that old. Thank you,

I take a paint pen and do something similar whenever I do work. Makes it easy to make sure you didn't miss anything and easier to see if anything is moving

The marks on the radiator hose and clamp are critical. If you remove the clamp for some reason from a hose that has been in service, the clamp must be installed exactly it was or the hose will leak.
