Hey guys, I’ve been looking for 4:1 transfer cases for my 02 Jeep tj for a while. My question is for those of you with experience with this swap, what all would need to be changed in order to be able to run a 241? My tj currently is a 2002 4.0 Sahara with the 5 speed and the Dana 44 rear axle. Thanks!

You need 4 approximately 1" spacers, a cable shifter, a speedohealer, and a BFH to massage the tub so it will fit if you have any type of belly up skid.

What would the spacers be for? Also I don’t have a belly up skid but will be going to a 2” drop skid with my 1.25” body lift

You want to keep the balancer on the 241. That will require a flange adapter and a CV driveshaft if you don't already have one.

IIRC I swapped the rear yoke from my previous SYE to the front of the case to mate up with my Front DS.

You might be OK with a hammer and some tub denting with the 1.25 inch BL. The better way to do it is put a socket on top of the spot the TCase interferes with the tub and then jack up the t case until the socket dents the tub in a bit. You'll definitely want a cable shifter as well.

Edit: I see were talking tranny mount not tcase skid spacers. I'm running a custom cross member now so can't help on that.

I think with the factory skid an tranny mount it was kind of a janky fix with a ton of washers but I can't really remember.

Just to be clear, is some of this trans mount spacer and tub denting stuff specific to 97-02? I figure since it was an option 03-06 (which had a new skid design) that it would be more bolt-in, aftermarket skids notwithstanding.

Tub denting is entirely dependent on what skid you want to run and how much body lift you have.

I believe Tranny mount spacer is a requirement up to the 02 model year due to the different skid plate but after that I'm not sure.

I'm not certain that it's easier, and it's definitely not as fun

We did the denting in Blaine's driveway when I got my belly skid. He makes everything look easy 🙄. On the same side of the coin swinging a hammer isn't as much fun when your being mercilessly made fun of....

Did he tell you to put down your purse and swing the hammer?

Three things....

1. Blaine ALWAYS makes everything look easier.

2. Blaine ALWAYS makes fun of people.

3. Blaine's work is ALWAYS superior to everyone else's no matter how hard you try.
