Wrong sliding uppers?

I bought this set of sliding uppers a while back thinking they were the Bulldawg TJ uppers.
The guy I bought them off didn't have the hardware, so I bought a new set from Bulldawg.

No matter what I do they don't seem to fit though. There's a big gap at the top of the door, and it seems like the windshield edge's angle is every so slightly off.

Are these possibly for a YJ?

I could be wrong, just pulling this from memory from when my brother owned a YJ years ago. I could have sworn that the mounting holes for the uppers weren't in the same place on YJs as on TJs.

If my memory is correct (which, again, I'm not sure) seems to me that the uppers you have would have to be for a TJ... but if that is the case, I don't know why they don't fit the top of your Jeep. Is it an aftermarket top?

You are correct the spacing of the pegs is different from a yj to a tj

Let us know when you figure it out. I'm on the hunt for a set of used hard uppers, so your troubleshooting on this may save me some headache when I find a set.

OP what does the bulldawg hardware look like?

On the door side is similar to the OE hardware. Main difference being that there is a threaded insert. The Bulldawg upper bolts in instead of just dropping in like most other uppers.

While I can get the bolts to line up, the upper does not line up with the door frame, as pictured.

Ok so the 3 alignment pegs fit thr door correctly?

From what I am seeing on BullDawgs site the TJ has a slanted window frame in the middle between windows and the YJ has the straight up and down. See below pic. Looking at your pics above it appears you have YJ upper doors.

This is true, but I think bulldawg used to make a TJ one with a straight window divider.
