Heater not getting hot

I changed the thermostat with the motorad one but the one I took out was functioning properly but still changed it and thermostat housing. I also flushed heater core. Both hoses from heater core are hot. When I turn my fan on I have forced air coming from the ac condenser drain hole by the firewall. I've looked but have yet to find any vaccum lines off or anything that would cause it. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Welcome to the forum!

Did you flush the heater core in both directions? Also, are you getting heat at higher rpm? Is the engine temp coming up to the normal level?

Are your blend doors working? can you switch the Fan to floor then front vents etc? sounds like it's blocked they way you are talking about the air coming out the AC drain plug in the firewall.

What year TJ? Blend doors are wire on older models but vacuum on newer models i believe.

Hi guys and thanks for the reply! Yes I flushed in both directions and as for the doors I can see the one move for cold to heat but that's all I can see. I have a 2002 x 4.0 5 speed everything works changing from vent floor defrost the temp sits between the 2 and 1 on 210

Might just have air trapped in the system somewhere.

Might not...

You could try pulling/loosening the water temperature sensor and see if you get more air out.

This cured my low heat problem. Normal flushes wouldn't touch my neglected system.

That looks about right with a 195º thermostat.

My '98 runs just to the left edge of the "2" except during the summer when it's 110+ outside, then it runs about where yours is sitting.

Sounds like your cooling system is fine and flowing in and out of the heater core.
I would focus on the doors.

I'm not sure if this is normal.
