Can't seem to keep mirrors in the same position

Remember you can add rubber gaskets or even black silicone at the connections- nothing to lose really. Especially if you need a quick cheap fix.

Yes. We got some from Amazon that were great.

I have a 97 TJ and I cannot seem to keep my mirrors in the same position. They seem to always move out of adjustment just in a 15 minute trip to work everyday. I have half doors and soft uppers. It’s a pain to keep the mirrors adjusted. Any advice or tricks to keep them in place?

See the attached. I purchased these in March and love'em. Says is doesn't fit the TJ but they fit like a glove.

My PO moved them off the doors...the relocation brackets expose the bolts...makes it easy to tighten. And I made a third arm for the passenger side so I could see with the hard top on.

I tried tightening them but they were already screwed in all the way. I think I will follow advice and get some mirrors on order.
I thought the same thing with mine but I still got them tighter with a bigger screwdriver and a more focused effort. Mine stopped moving around after that second attempt.

I see know what ya'll are talking about with the early mirrors. I have to adjust mine every time I shut the door.

Those are the same on my half doors. I backed the screws all the way out and cut the little boot of thinking they might disassemble somehow but nope. I screwed the two screws back in and really put a lot of torque on them. Meh? Maybe stay a bit longer between adjustments, time will tell.

I think this is what @P man is referring to...

If the issue is at the arm/door bracket, I believe it can be tightened from the bottom. If mirror head to bracket, try pulling up the small rubber boot, might be able to tighten the connection there.

Edit: just found this...

Damn didn’t know that screw existed! My hard doors (oem mirrors) are doing the same thing. Also, has anyone just replaced the mirror on their jeep door? Driving down a back/gravel road today and a rock done broke it! I see they sell just the mirror and assuming it’s just some glue that holds it on, maybe?
