Never been a roadie, I built a Rotec freeride bike years back and it damn near bankrupted me.
That is a beautiful bike, I love carbon bikes

And their eyes get really big when they cut a blind curve and you're right there to see it.
This is as far as MTB's are concerned.

Coming down Mt Lemmon last Sunday I was doing close to 45 and a road bike was right on my ass for a couple miles till the road got more level.

I think that was at Ironman MD.
Chick I was dating gave me shit for bringing my bike in the room so I put it on the bed and told her she had to sleep on the couch.
We didn't last long.
My smokin hot (cyclist) wife understands.

I hear that. I raced in college and then afterwards for about 10yrs, I set those expectations early with the college GF ( now wife)

Think I’ve got my road, XC, and single speed XC on the living room floor.

Hell no...not a weight weenie over here, :D

The two on the left are kinda porkie, around 28 lbs. The Single Speed (orange one) is lighter, maybe 24?

I grew in Chicago so spent many a weekend and summer riding single track in the woods of MI and WI. Road competitively in College and stuck with the skinny tires ever since.

I've kinda been looking at gravel bikes, off and on. There are so many idiots on their cell phones that it scares me to ride on the pavement around here.

Based on last year's usage though, I should sell ALL my bikes. I barely rode at all.

Don't do it!!!!

Unless it's to make room for NEW bikes!

Here's the latest build.
Torker graduate steel frame, 32 spoke wheelset, 9 sp Ultegra drivetrain with triple rings for the mountains, I have a 3 watt Shimano dynamo hub sitting in the box to charge electronics. Have to order spokes and rebuild the wheel.
Shakedown ride and camp was 3 days, 94 miles. Bike held up great, me, not so much!

I sold my cf Trek Emonda last summer and picked up a new cf Trek Checkpoint to get back in to gravel riding. My first ride with it was the Dirty Kanza 100. Intense and muddy way to break back into the gravel riding.

My 'Go Fast' days are way behind me. You'll more than likely find me on one of these now.

In my 64 years of cycling, I've learned that it is much easier to hide the n+1 bicycle in the garage than it is to hide the n+1 motorcycle in the garage.
