So I found these dewalt boxes at the hardware store and figured they might make a good camp kitchen setup. Both boxes together about $200. Drawers are sturdy and latch closed, latches all seem to work well and the foot print is way better than my old boxes I was using that didn’t fit really well in the jeep.

All my utensils, dish and hand cleaning, coffee making, stove, pan, fuel, cutting boards and knives are all in them.(I forgot to get a picture all loaded up, will add later).

They also make an ice chest that locks into this system so I am considering that and another couple boxes for dry food storage and general camp tools(axe, hatchet, stakes, rope, etc). My hope is to get all that paired down, packed well, everything with place and in its place so loading up and heading out it easier. I use my jeep waaaay to much for everyday stuff to build permanent or even semipermanent things into the back. But this seems like a good alternative. That’s still pretty accessible. I’m sure there are cheaper ways and better ways but this was a quick and easy way and I think overall going to be good.

Edit: I found the ice chest on sale/clearance free shipping and another box from tool barn and ordered that too. It came in.

If that will fit between my fridge and the wheel well I'm picking up the box with drawers :D

My Front Runner boxes fit sideways in that space, but that Dewalt is a couple inches wider.

Nice idea, I have a couple of Rigid boxes and a basket. I use one box for food that doesn't go in fridge or ice chest and basket for stove and every thing else.

There’s tons of various systems like this out there. After buying this I went down the rabbit hole on that a bit and found many many options along these lines.

There’s 2 options with drawers. 2 drawers like mine or a three drawer that’s the same outside dimension but smaller drawers.

I picked up a set of the inserts that take the “slop” out of the connection between boxes and I am looking into floor mount options so I can cut out a board to fit the floor of the jeep trunk and be able to latch the boxes into the jeep.

I would want the 2 drawer. Think I could get all my kitchen junk in it.

Dimensions say 21.8 for the width. What is the widest part? Is it the handles or something that can come off?

If I remove the seatbelts and back seat hardware I have 35.5" between the wheel wells. And the fridge is about 14.25".

I have a ton of stuff I should be doing this weekend, but they show in stock sorta near me. Maybe go put my hands on one and see.

The box itself is 21” wide the handles stick out out between 1/4 and 3/8 each side. They do appear removable.

Smaller Box and Ice Chest showed up today. It’s definitely a yeti type chest with super thick walls and and not a ton of capacity but I’ll make it work.
