A friend called me and said he knew where a 2000 T.J. sport was that the owner was tired of messing with and was interested in selling… Patriot blue, hardtop, full doors, manual transmission, 150,000 miles and no rust… Owner said started running rough and threw a P0123 code so they changed out the throttle position sensor but that didn’t fix it, so they were told it needed a PCM, so they swapped out the PCM, but that didn’t fix it then they were told it was a wiring issue so they wired a new pigtail into the throttle position sensor and that didn’t fix it. I drove it home and started back tracing the wiring from the throttle position sensor and figured out they had crossed the 5v wire and the signal wire on the pigtail and that the clock spring is the actual culprit,… After I rewired the pigtail, it runs like a charm until you plug in the clock spring and then it runs like shit and then if you unplug it, it runs smooth again… Needs a few repairs like blower motor, HVAC head unit, repair of the hardtop and some TLC but all in all solid rig…. Cheers!
