Almost lost it

A dedicated set of studded tires ($$$$) would be nice for the ice.
Or chains with cleats (less $$$ and opening a canoworms for some naysayers.)
Both items that are rarely 'needed' but great when you do. Can't say for sure if either would have prevented this.
Great video and always fun when it's done.

Chains would have prevented it in 2 ways: much better traction on ice and you wouldn't be doing 40 in chains :ROFLMAO:
Also even if he did end up hanging over like that he probably would've be able to back out onto the road.

@macleanflood I'd be interested in seeing the beads let go. How hard was it to reseat them in the snow?

I wasn't able and swapped to my spare...

Debead happens right after 17:10 in this video...

Debead happens at 4:48 in this video...

Both times low PSI...way below 10 and probably 3-5. And pulling sideways.

Chains maybe because they could be put in the Jeep and taken on and off as needed. But I've also watched a lot of sh!t get ripped up with one careless blip of the throttle. Tires with studs are legal to drive...but I'd just assume trailer at that point...and if I'm trailering why not go all out for some snow tracks? =) Maybe YouTube/Google will pay for some...man can dream...

I have chains for the LJ and need to cycle suspension and steering to see any interference up front.
They're camlock so no loose stuff to flail around.

Cool vid. Crazy that you can have that much fun on a paved road in the NW. Is that road gated in the winter?

That is winter and very few gates around here. Mostly gravel road once we hit the 15 mile mark...way before we climbed the hill. I think they gate highway 242 off the McKenzie in the winter...but that's a highway and they don't plow it.
