Security / Theft Protection

My wife had hers stolen, I promised her it won't happen again. I have designed and built a device that:
1. Requires a registered finger print to start
2. Supports sms text commands to inhibit if stolen, check its position send you a message if it moves while parked, gives a route to where it is at stolen or not via sms, records the fingerprint of anyone who is not registered when they try to start it.

I designed the hardware and wrote the software I will be selling it soon.

This makes me feel better not sure if it really works as my jeep has never been broken into.

I like it. I always recommend a passive anti-theft system but also highly recommend something visible. The TJ door locks are comically easy to bypass so having a visual deterrent can save you from having your door and interior damaged. Most thieves are opportunistic and look for easy targets. If they see you have gone through the trouble to install something large and visible then they will likely assume you have other protections and move on.

Remember when these were all the rage? Wonder why nobody uses them anymore? When you can run to Harbor Freight and buy a cordless grinder or sawzall for about $50...you could arguably blame cheap tools for the beginings of cat thefts...that and high prices and willing buyers.

Forest Service can't keep locks on our gates...lot of times the entire gate gets cut off and scraped.

$50 now, they just use the 100% off coupon and walk out with the tools
