I ordered a Hyline bumper and swing out for my TJ on Quadratec, it appears there is some conflict between the two, leading to delays on reception of the product.

Kind of a bummer, saved a good bit between the free(ish) shipping and military discount from Quadratec.

Not laying blame on either party, as I don’t know which is being honest, I’m leaning Hyline though is being the most truthful.

Posting here just for general SA on ordering from Quadratec.

Sadly, Q-tec did not tell you a lie. Hyline confirmed they are holding orders and Q-tec said there is no available ETA. Both are exactly true. You just have to decide which is more important, the parts or the discount.

Yeah, you’re right, I suppose neither party lied specifically. Though I would consider that withholding information, as Quadratec new exactly why there was no ETA on the item. Hyline was more forthcoming, and in business with a customer, that could be worth giving them what I forfeit in savings.

Q-tec's internal problems with a vendor are exactly none of your business so they aren't withholding anything you should be privy to. Neither of us know why or what the actual issue is. It could be as simple as shipping damage that Hyline doesn't want to take care of, a bag of missing parts the customer lost and lied about, or a simple increase in pricing to them that isn't in the contract. We also don't know if Hyline isn't sending them parts or if Q-tec isn't accepting orders from them until they get their little beef worked out. I'm not taking either side since I don't have enough info to do so and neither does anyone else on the outside. I also wouldn't take Hyline's version of it at all.

They have a great motivation to sell to you directly. First is you pay shipping, the second is, they cut out the middleman and derive a much higher profit margin. They can toss Q-tec under the bus some for that much motivation. And again, not taking sides.

Eh, I’ll disagree that customers shouldn’t be privy to some form of understanding why their item is delayed. I’m not asking for the absolute details, but leaving it open ended as they did, does not leave a customer with the ability to make an educated decision on how to proceed with their order.

I understand the multiple variables and reasons why either party would be in this situation. I just appreciate one party at least elaborating as to why my items I paid for have not shipped yet even though they list them as in stock on Quadratec. Whether it was because of one entities actions or the others, one certainly appears to be more open about the situation.

Either way, just wanted to put this out their, so anyone looking to purchase as I did, has at least some knowledge prior to committing a thousand dollars to items that have no specific arrival time.

You "should" know the why until it moves over into the relationship between them and the vendor. An example, we had a vendor who sold our brake kits. They liked to hold orders until they had about 10 or so and then would place them all at once regardless of how long it took to accumulate that many. Invariably, I would get an email from someone asking if the kits were in stock with ZERO background, just, do you have stock? Of course we do, we can ship right away.

Then the rest would come out, well why is X telling me that they are waiting on you to get them back in stock and you are only short a few parts to do that?

Then I'd have to fall back on sending them back to the vendor to get their questions answered. I had two choices, I could share the bullshit methods of that vendor, or I could send them back to them to get their questions answered with the caveat that I do NOT have an order in the system for them.

If I shared, then I'm the asshole for letting them still be vendors with knowing how they treat their customers. FYI, they are no longer vendors due to that bullshit.

Believe what you want, there is a large amount of motivation for one party to make themselves look good which I have explained. If you believe them, cancel your order and place it directly.

Glad you posted this. I've also been waiting on one of these for a month now, really appreciated the extra 100+ savings for shipping etc but it's super frustrating.
