I have a bit of oil it would seem leaking out onto the back tire. I am attaching some pics for help. Any help for a newb would be great.

I will not say immediately, but I wouldn’t be making any long hauls. People drive all over the place with leaking axle seals and never notice or ever replace them. It’s the brakes I’d worry about the most and since you’ll be pulling the axles I’d plan on putting new e-brake shoes, brake pads and rotors on it while they are off. Replacement is not hard nor are they expensive for a DANA 44, it’s a matter of having someone with a press to press the bearings back on. I’ve done them on multiple Jeeps. Personally I think the smell of the diff fluid is my least favorite part!!!

Liquid from the rear hubs can only be 2 things. Axle Seals or Brake Cylinder.
Pull the rear drum off, and the answer of 'which one is it' will be obvious.

HoseJockey's video above is one of the best I've seen as far as Axle Seals/Bearings are concerned.

Check the gear oil immediately before you smoke the rear diff man.
