Can someone link me to the correct buckle( the part with the release button ) seeing 2 different ones .. a short one and a long one ... the plastic is coming off mine and if its not in the correct place it won't stay buckled .. kind of a safety issue

I'd contact the folks at Dead Jeeps or Davey's and see if they can help with used parts. That or comb junkyards. I was just at the one in Eugene chasing parts for another car and visited their two TJs...think one of them had seatbelt buckles.

I ordered all new belts from Seatbelt Planet for my 97. The drivers side retractor is junk. Reminds me I need to call them.

Sometimes on mine, the plastic piece will slide up pass the red release button but all I do is slide it back down into place and it will lock the male end no problem

Guessing the seat comes out to replace this part .. looks like it's captured by the setback bracket .. hopefully it's in the service manual

Your 2004 needs the shorter version. On the 03 and up TJ's the seat belt receiver attaches at the side of the seat. The earlier models it connects at the seat base. You can access it by removing the center console or taking the seat out. I'm pretty sure it is a T-50 bolt. The part is available new or used. Ebay, Quadratec, Seatbeltplanet, all carry them as do others. If it is just the grey plastic surround that is loose and sliding down that is an easy repair. It is just held in by a push in plastic plug. You should be able to find one at Ace or your local hardware store.

Not sure the plug would work...

My 04 LJ the PO cut the set belt switch wiring and butt spliced the wires. They left a male connector attached to the rear seat frame with two Xmas tree pins. The connector is rectangular with two pins.
I have to cut the wires to take the seat out and would like to replace it like original. The FSM shows the connector on the side of the seat frame.
Could someone tell me how the 03-06 seat belt switch wiring was set up? Maybe a picture? Do I need a new seat belt wire or the wiring harness?
