Help with rim choice

I've just bought a set of 31's as part of an upgrade after i crashed and figure it makes sense to stick them into the repair budget!

The initial plan was to fit to the stock 5 spoke 15*7 rims, but the Jeep parts supplier here has a set of these Chrome ones available at a decent price. Buying them means i have a spare set of 5x wheels if i ever wanted to go back to stock, or i could sell them as a set to offset the cost of the new rims.

Looks wise i quite like both equally but in different ways. Chrome is obviously more showey and this is purely a beach Jeep rather than an off road vehicle, but i wonder how they'll look when filthy/scratched.
Chrome versions are 15*8 which i believe eliminates the slight rubbing on stock rims at full lock (i know there's the washer mod to eliminate this)

I know it's ultimately my choice, but i can't seem to make the decision. Can't decide if that's enough of a reason to not spend extra money.

The Jeep is currently green, but i do have plans one day to respray in something a bit more bright/glossy.

I like the stock ones. Those "chrome" wheels usually stick out way too far for my liking. Assuming the stock rims are not bent, you will get better ride and balancing with stock wheels and they are usually higher quality.

OP - "Well, I'm going to find out anyway. I ordered yesterday before posting expecting you to justify my awesomeness and it'll be here tomorrow."
 
I would keep the stockers personally. I don't like the aftermarket stickout and I have definitely had issues with balancing on aftermarket wheels that didn't happen on stock wheels. Probably because the hub on aftermarket wheels isn't always put perfectly in the center of the wheel because it's not supposed to be critical. Supposed to balance aftermarket wheels off the lugs but barely any tire shops do that anymore. OF course, often times balancing turns out fine anyways, but not always.
 
Cheers guys. Although the split between the options doesn't help. I wanted more uniformity :p

For confirmation and because i had no idea there was a difference between Chromed Steel and Polished Aluminium. For those that were pro shiney because the picture gives the impression of polished alu.

Does that opinion change if i've confirmed they are steel. More accurate picture here of the specific wheels

Personally, I'd look for a polished aluminum wheel. I've seen these plated steel wheel on lots of boat trailers over the years, and they tend to start rusting in the barrel-to-face area, likely because it creates a trap for debris and water. How long that takes, IDK.

If they're cheap enough, and you like them, run 'em and find out.

My black steel wheel spare started doing the same thing. I tried to hide it until I find some stock Moab TJ wheels.

Cheers all, the rims themselves around around $100 each, i think i'm going to leave them for now and either wait until i find some rims i really like or until i can justify spending a decent amount more on polished aluminium.

Water ingress is unlikely as Spain gets very little rain each year, especially where i am, but i'll be living on this plot (as soon as my house is built!) and so dust/debris is likely to be abundant!

Not quite. A 15x8 rim with 0 offset has 4.5" of backspace, as it's actually 9" wide when measured lip to lip. 10mm is ~ 0.4", so a negative 10 offset would result in 4.1" of backspacing.

I blame that on TiresWheelsDirect. 🤫
p.s. Their chart that says an 8" wide wheel with -19mm offset=3.75" backspacing is correct.
