Wildman's TJ is getting a face lift

Working on the Jeep today but still haven't figured out what is up with the dash...

With the key on I'm not getting anything at the dash. What's confusing is that I didn't touch anything with the wiring for the dash 🤔.

Everything else works as it should.

And then I had to replace the fuel line going to the intake.

And moved the crossover hose.

But I've got fuel pressure now once I put some fuel into the tank.

Engine won't start which I'm thinking is due to no spark 🤔.

OK 👍 duh... had to think about what I'd done while the engine was torn down.
I'd hooked up the Auxbeam panel and had used a fuse tap on the fuse panel. Guess what?

Something so easy...
So moved the fuse tap to a switched power in the center console instead.

Didn't get out into the garage until after 1PM today due to trying to help my son on his new project. He just bought a Suzuki Sidekick for a wheeling rig. But the PO had abused it and his dog had gotten into the interior chasing a squirrel. In doing so I guess the dog had ripped out some of the wiring. So I was helping him figure out how to patch it up.

I'm dealing with a No Spark issue 😕. So I've got to trace out the ignition circuit and try to determine why I'm not getting spark now.
So far I'm not finding the issue but again it's got to be something simple since it was running before I pulled the heads.

Well the No Spark issue was something simple.....
My ignition coil was bad. Don't know why it died or what could have caused it but I had a spare coil. I'll get the radiator installed and hooked up and then can run it longer.

This build is the definite of 'if it can go wrong, it will' and MacGyver (I had a spare, buddy/local had one, etc).... :ROFLMAO:

Go outside your garage and kick Murphy in the nuts 🥜 (he's got to be lurking in the woods nearby) so this projects get back on track, MacGyver!

I'm telling ya this thing just seems to KEEP fighting me... And I won't tell you about how I had it in neutral instead of park so I have ATF all over the front of the engine because the lines weren't capped off... DAMN IT...

But it does start and runs... That is the important part. I can pull it out and wash off the front after I get the radiator back in.

And Yes it's either Murphy or ? who has it out for me.

You're sticking with it. That's all that matters. And we all can't give you enough props for that - we all see it fighting you and you aren't giving up Soldier! 🇺🇸

The fact that this coil failed on me has me wondering if that wasn't part of my issues with it not running correctly before. I'll order another coil to have as a spare since I don't know the history of this MSD coil I have. I'd bought a bunch of spare parts off a member on the Dodge Magnum group on FB and he'd sent the MSD coil in all the stuff.

So the question now is do I get another MSD coil or a Accel or the Screaming Demon like I had?

They're all about the same price and all have the same specs.

Damn I get that things have gotten expensive to ship but you could put one of these coils into a flat rate box and shipped it for $10.

This is just stupid crazy... I dislike having to use Amazon for so much of my shopping but this right here is why.

The coil from Performance Distributors is $65 and they offer it in two different versions, where with the 1998 & newer you don't need a adapter for the wiring harness. Now that harness on Amazon is $29.95 so I guess you could say you're paying shipping or the adapter harness... I just really dislike being extorted for shipping costs like that.

UPS is getting really ridiculous on their shipping prices. Its 25 bucks, min, no matter what. Plus you have to pay a person to put it in a box and here, that person makes 15 bucks an hour, min. Boxes aren't even cheap anymore. Sucks all the way around.

Yep, both UPS & FedEx have gotten expensive. It's cheaper to use the USPS now when it used to be the other way around.

I'd thought I'd ordered 1" spacers but once I opened the package I found out I'd ordered 3/4" spacers. Then thinking I could use 1/2" spacers instead I ordered a pair of them.
But I just installed the 3/4" spacers and my driveshaft just clears the exhaust Y-pipe.

I don't know if I'll hang onto the 1/2" spacers or not.

Also ordered a new Accel coil since I don't know the history of the MSD coil I've got installed now. I'll carry the Accel coil in my trailer box.

Now I can install the radiator.

Thankfully the coil is super easy to change.
With the York kit on the engine the coil is moved from the front of the engine to the body of the York.

Two bolts and the coil is off.

New coil installed.

Still a lot going on under the hood.
