Hi! Had my wife film , trying to get the wheel and sound. Not the best, but its the sound we are looking for.

When turning to the right, no matter if just a “tad” or all the way, there is this whine/hum. No sound when driving straight or turning to the left.

Can’t remember if it was like this before the car was regeard ( as there was a ton of other sounds). But now i hear it as we fixed the rest. ( professionaly done)

Uploaded to YT;

Wheel bearing?

Jacked it up and testet all wheels, no sound to speak of from any of the tiers when spinning. But noticed left rear tier has a bit of resistance on it compared to the right rear.
It spins, but right one spins more freely. So kinda stumped at the moment

From my experience right turn noise means you have a bad left front hub. It might not be to a point you can feel it while spinning the wheel off the ground but give it some time and it will get worse.

Got the tools, will mount a new hub and try ( mind you, ill try to figure out how to change it, youtube it, then actually do it) tonight.

I keep a 1/2" drive 12 pt 13mm socket in my jeep tool bag just for that job. ;)

Axle nut seized up. So applied a ton of CRC 5-56 and put the wheel back on.
Its been sitting overnight, just added more oil and will go buy an electric nut driver(450NM) when the shop opens.
Will try that and breaker bar for starters.
The bearing it self is probably also seized up as its the original one thats been on for 27 years. Good times.

Also upgrading my air compressor hose while waiting for a air gun ( 1300nm), to make this easier on the other side , for when that bearing arrives.

Victory! Had to re-insert bolts and a socket to hammer it loose!

The electric nut driver needed 3 seconds and it was loose!
Test drive next

Update:
Took it out for a spin.
Sound still there…

Dangit

Did you replace both sides? Probably anal on my part, but I try to do both sides at once if I'm doing it. Mine aren't seized, so it's a really easy job for the most part thought. I spent a day and a half and rented like 9 major pullers to get my the hub off my daughter's little BMW, so I know the feeling.

I don't like throwing parts, but if you did one, I'd do both if the sound is still there, that's just me.

I am planning to, the other one has not arrived , but will change it when it arrives. Gotta use all these tools now that i have them :p

Damn that sounds an awful lot like a tire not much t go wrong just some throw out some ideas
Unit Bearing
Tire or Tire Rub

Changed unit bearing already ( left side), doing right next week when it arrives.
( also ordered AXLE bearings for rear but pretty shure im not qualified to do them my self. )

I have had a inkling against power steering as the sound comes even when doing 1 degreee to the right. But why does it sound like a spinning gear/wheel that " slowes down" while the car decelerates and " goes away" when accelerates.
Can grease up U joints but arent they supposed to make a clunckish sound?

Still leaning towards pinions not being set right.

Heres another shot where i turn to the right, the left so you can hear the difference.

Also Did another film, from under the car while driving, a ton of sound so the sound we are looking for is not that easy to spot, but here it is. but NO tire rubbing, even tho it sounds like it. ( also did a seperate thread on it)
