I have a NV3550 with 3.73 gears and 33" tires. It isn't terrible. I daily drive it this way and can max it out at 85 mph. Granted I don't want to go much faster than that in this thing. It gets around town decent, just have to stay in a lower gear a bit longer. I still shift 1-2 at 15 mph, 2-3 at 25, 3-4 at 35, and 4-5 at 45-50, all at which the dash shift light comes on. Yes, my speedo gear has been changed.

In essence, can it be done comfortably yes; is there better gears, yes. I'll be going to at least a 4.56 if I can't find a decently priced set of Rubicon axles.

You can also look for a 3.73 front from a TJ.

+1. Oct 2021 paid ~$500 for the Rancho/Procomp combo detailed in that thread. You can possibly find parts cheaper online. Add another $180 for the BMB body lift which you can always add later. https://blackmagicbrakes.com/ols/prod

33x17s on 3.73 with 5spd. I’m 90% around town, I never use 5th but can easily cruise at 75.

And I’d never done a lift before I did mine, buddy with experience and the guides here got it done in a weekend
