And found the one i wanted today, previous owner is a doctor who owned for past 5 years, seems to be in decent condition with minor frame rust spot which a good friend will fix and some clear coat failure. Nice enough looking I think and pretty much what I wanted, full doors and soft top and the Sahara package is a plus for me. Needs tires and I am sure lots of other things will turn up. Happy to be here.

Excellent, never too old for a Jeep. Much better than a plastic pig. (although every one needs a Corvette one time in their life)

Enter VIN in here to see all that it came with. https://fcagroup.my.site.com/RAM/s/equipment-listing

That caught my eye....My dad passed away late summer before last...Left a pretty nice C6 Corvette coupe. I’m not a Corvette guy so to speak....But I’m glad I’ve had the opportunity to have one and I would tell anybody if you’re not wanting to spend a lot of money try to at least get into a C6 or newer version- They are light years ahead of their predecessors. Do that or jump back to the 70s or 60. It’s kind of funny....I will walk past it about any time to get in one of my Jeeps. I tell people it’s a faster way to get parts for them.

Stop thinking about it and go buy it!

I did a cursory check, not flaky, seemed solid, had it looked at (after i bought it lol) and my much more qualified friend and mechanic says it will be ok except for the one small repair needed.

Manual transmission FTMFW

Love the seats and interior. Very clean lookin TJ
Just needs a lift and some bigger wheels to be proportionate

Don't be in a big hurry to lift, mod too much. Drive it for a while and see how you like it. If you go out by yourself be sure and get a good used Warn winch first thing. Although when through KS on the way to CO, I never saw much to winch to, other than windmills !!

Good idea to change fluids and check brakes, etc. You will be surprised where a stock TJ with just decent 31 inch tires will go. (the VIN check will tell you if you have a dana 44 with a limited slip)

And you are nearly halfway from Nashville to Ouray, CO or Moab !! Good luck.

I've had my TJ for 27 years. I have never lifted it and never will. It is capable without being lifted. When you lift it, repairs increase astronomically. And you risk totalling it too. I've seen the off road roll overs. Why would I want to risk totalling my daily driver? Now, if it is just a recreational vehicle, then I understand, and I love seeing the videos. It is still sad to see them totalled in roll overs.

Anyway, for whatever reason you brought it, a TJ is a blast to own. Almost every other SUV owner, admires them. Nearly every JK, knows which is truly best, and admires them too. I still admire my own. So, welcome to TJ ownership. Enjoy.

Welcome and clean looking Jeep! Have fun with it. I agree with @tnjeepguy drive it and get used to it before you do a lot of mods, if any. Some like them stock and as @ChasUGC said it “can” increase repairs especially if they are not done right.
