While I wait/save up some funds to lift my TJ, and get new wheels/tires, thought I'd give it a shot to plastidip my wheels black (like I'm hoping to have with new wheels). Came out awesome and really easy. Went through about 3 cans for all 4 wheels, just be patient and put on lots of layers. FYI, I didn't mask the tires (only the white lettering). After it dried the overspray on the tires peeled right off. As you can see I masked behind the wheels and also the lugnuts. I totally recommend this for an inexpensive way to give your jeep a whole new look.

We tried this on my pal's Bronco back in FL, I was surprised how well it held up. Lots of driving through thick brush & mud down there, he got a good year out of it before the the stuff started to flake off.

Sorry for bumping an old post...but I was thinking of doing the same thing on the same wheels. It looks great!
