Hey everyone. This happens mostly on the freeway and/or higher speed.
When I let go of the gas, I am getting a high pitch noise/ whistle, it disappears a soon as I press slightly on the gas pedal and comes back as I release it.
I took a short video so you can hear it.
It sounds like a vacuum leak to me but it’s hard to find out where it’s coming from as the sound is only perceivable when the car is In motion .
Video : Here
Thank you for your help!
Ps: I tried posting yesterday but couldn’t find my post anywhere, apologies if it’s a duplicate.

Sounds like mine. Exhaust manifold gasket. Try and torque everything down on the manifold/header. I was able to tighten a bit, to quiet it down. But it’s still there, and will need to be replaced.

sounds like a vacuum leak to me. just have to follow all lines.

one trick i've used on other vehicles is using some starting fluid, spraying on the lines while engine is running, if the idle surges thats where your leak is. I do not know if it is recommended for TJ's

You might be right… I tried to tighten it down a few months ago without great results but I will give it another try or replace the gasket but I’m not happy about it…

I’m not looking forward to it, not being as limber as I once was. I think there were a few I couldn’t manage to get to, which very well could quiet it more.

You’re right, they are not all accessible, I believe 3 too ones are but the bottom ones are hard to reach, I don’t feel about only getting only one side of a seal or gasket, usually creates imbalance and makes the problem Worse.
