So yesterday I got in the car and half way through my drive I start hearing chirping. Thought it was the car behind but it never went away so that’s when I figured it was me [emoji23]

The chirping definitely comes and goes. Gets pronounced or starts after I hit a bump and usually stops when coming to a full stop.

Inserting a couple of video clips I took while driving. I have looked at the angry sparrow posts but not sure if it’s that. Car is an 05 with 69k miles. It had been sitting for 4-5 days and the weather was very hot And humid yesterday compared to last time I drove it. Let me know what y’all think!

I have a similar chirp, I've greased everything, made sure everything is tight, even tightened the manifold but still it chirps at me until the Jeep warms up. Next on my list is to replace the u joints in a month or two; $ willing

Mine actually started when the car was warm. Replacing the U joints does not look terrible but I have to first figure out which one it is and if in fact they are the culprit. All I wanted to do was put my safari doors and enjoy the nice weather and now I have to hear the chirps with the top off :cursing2:

check brake pads getting worn, warning clips?, or maybe a bird got trapped in the back, an is pissed when, hitting bumps....

Sounds like it could be the start of the "angry sparrows" of a warn centering ball in the front driveshaft. Mine started as intermittent and quickly became a constant chirp. If you pull the front driveshaft and the chirp goes away, you've found your culprit [emoji106]

Is it safe to drive around without the front driveshaft? I usually have to drive 10-15 miles to get the chirping started.

The noise actually goes away when brakes are applied. I won't rule it out but when I drove last Saturday with top and doors off, fiance told me the noise was coming from under her seat underneath the car which makes me believe it is the front drive shaft and the double cardan joint.

Start at the brakes:) check the pads. move on from there...

I do not think there is an issue of driving without the front DS, just know you are on rear wheel drive only.
Correct, no worries driving without the front shaft. I drove mine for about a month last summer with the front driveshaft sitting on my workbench.

I had the driveshaft issue, but mine only made the noise for the first mile or two when cold. Pulled the shaft, noise gone, drove without it for a month or so until I had the $$$ to get a new one. Good luck finding it. Anymore I just turn the radio up :band:
