So the axle is in and humming along and the new parking brake cables are in, but the driver side cable keeps popping out of the TJ equalizer bar. (The metal bracket that connects the 2 brake cables from the axle to the cable that is connected to the parking brake lever)

Anyone have this problem?

Did the three little barbs catch. If they are pushed in you may have to pry them out just slightly for them to catch in the bracket.
I think you're referring to the collet that holds the parking brake sleeve in the bracket. I'm referring to the actual cable end in the equalizer. I guess I can tig weld some extra material to close up the openings.

Sounds like the cable may not be fully tight on that side. You sure it doesn't need some adjustment?

There must have been a time
when we could have said no.
