How many of you have / use wheel chocks?

That's good on you to help him out.

Not a good thing but easy money I suppose...

And hopefully it's covered by a decent tarp.

His cover is old and I don’t think it’s very waterproof. No drain plug so any rain is just going to collect in the bulge. Picture below shows another boat in the lot with the tarp turning the boat into a bathtub. My Son has already drained it once and we’ve gotten 3” of rain since New Years and it’s filling again. You can see the previous high watermark. There is a 14’ aluminum boat here that they left the plug in and so much water accumulated that the tires were flat. I removed the plug and it took about 45 min for everything to drain. I have several boats in the yard and the responsible owners come out and check everything after it rains.

When I had boats I used PVC pipes bowed to keep the covers from collecting rainwater. Not that we get much rain here.

Yep one little dip in the cover collects water and the weight just makes it get worse. The key is to have venting so interior moisture can escape and prevent mold.
I have a 24’x50’ canopy for my stuff and have another 30’x52’ in the works. We do get rain here but the sun and heat cause the most damage.

Proper tarp technique.

Is that your milk truck? Looks like the one that was parked at the Malibu Pier a couple years ago.

Beautiful truck and a scenic background. I've probably graded the shoulders and patched those roads when I was working for a living. I used to live about 2 miles west of Strawberry Peak overlooking the IE.

My neighbor's boyfriend was working on his shift cable, and when it finally came loose, the car went into neutral, causing it to roll down her ~50' long driveway, across two lanes of traffic, and land into the lake. Luckily, there weren't any passing cars, and the lake was low, so the part where they ended up was unusually dry (I've stepped here before and went up to my mid calf in mud when it "looked" dry!).

Her driveway is less steep than mine, so yeah - I always use wheel chocks, even when I'm "flat" in the garage. I've been in EHS for nearly 20 years, so I've seen too many "after incident reports" to tempt fate... I really like the heavy rubber ones from HF/HD: https://www.harborfreight.com/solid...M5CyjUiJtI-Zt-bu05ppVx0Na_YpuLrwaAslSEALw_wcB

Yup , even the "level" ground isn't , in the Rockies . I kinda always use chocks .

I have my 1954 DIVCO up on blocks so I can replace the tires I put on in 1991 when I restored it.?Only about 200 miles on them. 7.00x 16 bias ply on split rims. $2000 for 4 tires, tubes, liner and mounting. I went with 6.50x16 and the price went down to $1200. If I get another 35 yrs I’ll be happy.
