Transmission Codes P0700 & P0740

Would replacing the entire wiring harness be easier than trying to trace out the problems?

Be a gamble, and braking connector plug clips is an issue. Just work slow and be very cognizant of what you are doing- it will usually be a very minor abrasion.

My buddy removed his and went over every inch of it. Hard to see the wires on the rig- especially the critical solenoid wires on the passenger side. Rodents can damage them as well.

Hi !

I have the p0740 code, It comes up after 25 mins exactly of driving on the freeway after resetting the code, I have installed a new shift solenoid, speed sensors, put new fluid in it multiple times with a filter and installed a cooler, also checked the wiring and all seemed to be fine When the code pops up it drives like nothings wrong with it and still hops into overdrive and out of overdrive on the highway no problem, It shifts into gears no worries with no shuddering or slipping. I think it could need a shop to give it a proper flush because when i bought it and changed the oil for the first time it was really burnt or the torque convertor is slightly slipping just enough to set of the code.

Cheers Will.

you should start a new thread, honestly. Also include your year & trans info. Sounds like you have an 03-06 based on context clues, but would be nice to be certain.
