Hey everyone,

i'm back in the Jeep family. I had an '03 Sport decked out on 35's and did tons of work on it, but the engine blew about 10 years ago and I had to part ways with it. But after a lot of searching I finally found a 2006 SE that was in great shape and brought it home yesterday morning. Looking forward to getting back into the Jeep community that I missed so much. I won't be going crazy with the mods this time, but definitely not staying stock for long :)

Awesome! Welcome back!
Did you get the new one in IL or have to travel a ways for it? It looks to be in good shape.

Thanks! I had a cars.com alert set for yellow manual TJs in the IL/IN/WI area, luckily one popped up about an hour away in Bensenville, IL right next to O'Hare.

I test drove a silver one in Carol Stream a month ago but it was in really poor shape, the clutch was on its last legs, a bunch of interior stuff was damaged, and it was clicking while idling - which reminded me of just before my throwout bearing exploded in my 03, so I passed on it.

Congrats and welcome back to the Jeep life! That yellow TJ looks super clean, and you can’t go wrong with an SE as a solid base. Even with light mods, it’ll still put a big grin on your face every time you take the top off and hit the road.

It’s funny how Jeeps have a way of pulling you back in after a break — sounds like this one found the right home. Looking forward to seeing what subtle changes you make as you settle back in. Enjoy it!
