Fixing up a 97 wrangler 4.0. Definitely has AC under the hood but this is the dash. Any ideas about how to get AC control?

Thanks

This is what a 97 w/ A/C HVAC controls looks like. They've gotten very expensive so the PO might have swapped it out when the original controls went bad? And all he could find at the time was a none A/C version?

That's helpful. Thank you. Who knows. I'm going to be taking the dash apart so I'm just trying to figure out what would be best moving forward. Not concerned with original stuff, just want it to work. Thanks again.

Thank you. I'll need to look up what that looks like. I'm currently reinstalling a rebuilt 4.0 so it's a mess right now. Maybe that's an option for me?? Thanks again

Here's a thread on how to do this.

You can put in a switch to turn on & off the compressor as long as the A/C is hooked up and charged. But there is technically more to it than that.

The proper HVAC panel is going for $150 or more on EBAY last time I'd looked.

Thank you! I may come back here to update when I get farther along. Is there a better place to post things such as this on this site?

Nope this is a fine spot. And you'll get the most help since it's seen the most.

Pictures would definitely help us offer advice too.

Just took a look at that link and I misunderstood. The AC availability would be more needed than an air compressor option. That is really cool though!
