I found a hardtop online and would meet the person to buy it and I need to know the dimensions for it to fit in the back of another car or if i need to get a buddies truck.
Fun factoid. It is made to fit your Jeep, so if you measure the rails it sits on on the tub you can also get it's dimensions!!
You’re way more trusting than I am…
Load your Jeep onto a trailer and take it to where the top is. Unload the Jeep and install the top. That’s what I did.
If not installing it directly on a jeep, a trailer is definitely your best bet to safely fit and secure a hardtop. I don't know of any car or suv the hardtop will actually fit inside of. On most trucks, I don't believe the top will fit between the wheel wells in the bed to sit flat, but i could be wrong on that. Just measure the width of the jeep tub, length from top of windshield frame to rear of tub, and the height from the top of the tub rail to the top of the windshield frame for a rough set of dimensions.

Do you think it might not be a TJ lid?

I bought one and picked it up in my truck, a Dodge with 6' 4" bed, and I was able to shut the gate. Turned sideways, the front of the top had to hang out over the side a little, but pretty much just a little more than the mirror.

You know, they make trucks for stuff like that.![]()
I didn't even think about turning it sideways. Whatever works though!
Don't ask how I know, but you truthfully only need 3 bolts.
You might need even fewer, I don't have any data on that.
