1998 TJ passenger seat rear bolts removal

Hello all,
Can anyone help me with accessing and removing the rear two seat mounting bolts on the passenger side of my 1998 Wrangler TJ ? I don't see how I can get any tool in that area Thanks for reading.

If you slide the seat all the way forward (maybe "tumble" it too) you should have no problem getting in there. Maybe post a pic of the trouble?

Yes I did that and can see the tops of the bolts but part of the seat frame is right over the bolt with only 1/4" clearance between bolt head and frame. No way to get a tool in that space. Thanks for your reply

A pic would help here, I've owned several TJ's and never had this problem.

Did you try removing the seat? That should get the seat frame completely out of the way.

That's the problem, I m trying to remove the seat to do some frame rust repair and while welding so I won't set the carpet on fire

This is what you should be seeing if the seat is adjusted all the way forward and tumbled correctly. This is driver side but basically the same.

Doh! I read incorrectly and thought you were trying to remove the REAR SEAT bolts. I see now you are working on the front seat rear bolts.

As said above, slide the seat all the way forward, then lean it forward. That will give enough room to get to the bolts.

That's a great photo, thanks. Maybe I m missing something about the " properly tumbling "., the seat back will lean forward but never enough to expose the fasteners like in your photo. I m 77 and not as well versed as you guys on the forum. Is there something more than leaning the seat back forward that I am missing. Thanks much for your reply and great photo. Getting old aint for sissies.

Hello to all who replied,
TJ4Jim helped me out greatly, I was not aware of the seat tumbling feature. You tube showed me the procedure and it worked fine, all is good now. Thank you all much for helping out the old timer.
