Hello All,

I will be replacing the rear axle bearings on my Dana 35 for my 1998 Wrangler TJ with 168 K mi. I plan on heating the hub slightly with a propane torch to ease the bearing removal job. Does anyone not recommend this procedure for any reason ? Thanks much,

Pocojo

A Dana 35 does not have a removable hub. The "hub" is part of the axle. Heating it will do nothing for you. The bearing are in the housing and are removed with a pulling tool. I highly doubt you will need to heat the housing.
