I'm curious to see if that bump on the bottom right still has enough time to develop into a drop tine or if it will just be a bump this year. And how big the other drop will get.
Oh I'm fairly certain he wont be creeping around that close to anyone's house down here by the river come opening day.

They'll likely be up on the back side of the mountain to the left...

I'm pretty sure given his rack and the scars on his side that he's quite a few years growth

Me I'm an "if it's brown, it's down" hunter. Meat in the freezer I can eat. Horns on the wall, not so much........
I've never been a horn hunter either... I would much rather get a either sex tag and fill it with a nice doe, or a cow elk tag. Yeah the bucks and bulls are bigger but doe and cow meat is so much more tender and the fat is better distributed so the flavor is better too...
But you can do this

I've only ever gotten one thing taxidermied and it's the first (and only) banded duck I shot. A pretty triple curl drake mallard. It wasn't messed up at all from the shot and landed in a spot where I just left it to get when I was done. Almost forgot it! Then hand carried it for the mile long hike out like it was a newborn!
The only big bucks where I'm at are in town lol

I had one buck mounted but spent most of my hunting years trying to thin the herd and shooting does.
The deer in that pic were all shot near where I grew up the room is fairly large and those deer run all the way around it. Pretty cool place to visit.
Yep, wasted money on vanity!!! Good ole traditional skull cap and antler mount is all you need if you're even into that...
As for the meat, yeah, like I said there's generally more of it than what you can harvest out of a doe or cow elk, but I'm not a fan of the gamier taste associated with testosterone laden venison...
