Piss & Moan Table

I've been working on the daughter's car and loaned her my commuter. So I'm driving the Jeep to work instead of the 32-35 mpg car. Right when gas jumps. Good thing I filled up before the hike and used some store rewards to drop another 30 cents a gallon off. $3.29/gallon for 20 gallons was good timing.

We may have to switch pricing to liters to make ourselves feel better.

Yessir, I find it amusing when Canadians try argue "free" healthcare. Nothing is free. And when there's no consequence for clogging up emergency rooms with problems that are not an emergency, it causes a lot larger problems for those in critical condition.

Like usual, there's middle ground. Unfortunately, the word practical isn't very well known amongst government officials

I agree a two tier system would work better. Government clinics staffed by people they paid for their college education to handle lower care needs.

Unfortunately, the current free healthcare people in the US are one reason the rest of us pay more. My ex brother in law would take his kids on state medicad to the ER rather than schedule appointments for things like a sore throat.

If it is free, as in the user doesn't pay taxes or medical bills, then it normally gets overrun with deadbeats and fraud before ending up worthless.

The amount of fraud they are finding recently is incredible. Makes me think government paying doesn't work either.

They delete them as soon as they roll off the dealer lot too.

I haven't heard anything recently, but around here guys with deleted trucks, motorcycles, and even tractors, were having issues when it came time to have any work done, or if they tried to buy/sell/trade with a dealer. The trucks were kind of expected, but when I started hearing guys talk about having issues with motorcycles and tractors, well that was a bit mind blowing.

Yeah. The issue as soon as you have government programs, they're going to be abused. For example, California, Minnesota and pretty much all of Canada. Working on getting into the airport project in Toronto, somehow the upgrades and all that to the airport is costing $20+ billion? And the cost for a high speed rail magically doubled.

Heck, I've made sales to aviation companies before because the government comes to them with tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars left in the budget and they just give it away.

I honestly wonder how much of my pay is going to fraud, corruption and just general overspending. Not long ago, somehow our PM and his cabinet flew to the east coast, and the food on that flight cost 80k? The math isnt mathing.

Basically you have to find an independent shop to work on a deleted truck. The Trump EPA has eased the DEF requirements on how long you can operate with no DEF.

They have also backed off going after the non commercial truck independent truck shops performing the deletes.

Basically if I had a new truck, I would wait till the warranty was expired before doing a delete.

In my neck of the woods in Illannoy, diesel can range between $5.49 to $5.89. Except in my town with only two gas stations. One station is $5.95 and the other is $6.51. So I don't get gas or diesel in town. I usually only fill up once a month now that the grandsons are back in school., so that helps. My preferred mode of transportation right now for errands is the sidecar rig, but that takes 91, and that's higher than diesel around here.

I'm surprised that the 2wd. 2 jugger , needs premium 91 octane !

Shouldn't that be ethanol vs methanol ? Methanol is fun for sprint car Hilborn mechanical F.I. But it eats fuel systems in a regular car . Our Murphy and Maverick stations have a dedicated Non ethanol hose but it's in the same dispenser. Great point on the money being the same profit wise . Thanks man !

Yep, that one I'm going to blame on autocorrect..

I'd look into a motorcycle.

And since you're in Canada, eh, make that with a ski and a studded tire.

Or get a Ram 2500 Cummins 4X4 , Everyone that has one , says their truck with a tuner puts out 900 h.p. , and can tow a 30,000# trailer up to Eisenhower tunnel at 90 m.p.h. in 8" of slush , all while getting 38 m.p.g. !!!!!! So many say this , it has to be true ! :ROFLMAO: Chromed Spiked lug nut covers are a plus ! ( Come on you know you want in this elite group . ) ;)

Yeah. I think too many people focus on trade and what not between countries, and totally forget the fact that at a certain point, it becomes a national security and dependency issue

This is 100% true.
Too many Americans (and everyone else, too, I'd imagine) are too short sighted to see that WE paid for China to build up their military.

Story time

Yesterday like today I was at the center for advanced healthcare,(that is all old people do is go from one waiting room to the next) when I was leaving a Lexus LC500 was parked next to my mustang.

I had never seen one, I'm not into Lexus but that car caught my eye. I was going to take a photo but two old women started loading their walkers into the trunk. So just for shits and giggles I looked the car up. Holy shit stains Batman that car is 120k+

The depreciation is huge on that car. They aren't going to make a 2027 because of lack of interest/ sales.

Why would anyone buy a car like that? I know most new vehicles depreciate a lot but F*** me.

Well, I just can't compete with any of that but I will say my Cummins does pull better than anything else I've ever owned.
And gets decent mileage to boot.
Now, if we want to talk about ride that's another story.
About the only thing I can compare it to is an old hay rack on a washboarded gravel road...

I had to look them up to see what they were and you're right, value drops like a rock after a couple years.

If I was to get a diesel truck , it would be real non typical . A all mechanical 12 valve 5.9 with a good 5 spd. in a single cab square body , or something real stupid and fun ! , like a C-90 longnose with a custom built 12V-92 twin turbo and an Allison ! , single rear axle with a custom pickup box ! ( think this without tandems ) .
With our income level , don't expect anything !

I was surprised at that, too, when I bought it. 8.5:1 compression ratio says 87. My ears and specs say 91. First time I said the engineers who designed it were nuts and I ran 87 in it, I experienced a flashback to the early 1970s emissions controls with dieseling and genuinely really crappy running.

I thought something was up , you are smarter than what you typed .

Easy now... don't go spreading rumors like that around... People might start expecting me to pay more attention, and we both know that's not in the budget.

Besides, if I start making sense, people are going to think my account got hacked by someone with an actual education.
