my office was at 2D369 which was opposite where the plane hit. I was TDY that day.
There's a lot of true heros that never got recognized and didn't want it either. I think of the Marines just doing their jobs when they rescued the kids.

I went to the 911 Memorial and Museum in 2014 and was really moved by what they had put together. Highly recommend it if anyone is out there and has the opportunity. Very patriotic and well done.

Eerily enough, I woke up at the exact time this morning that I did 25 years ago. I'll never forget that morning. I worked swing shift, so I was still asleep when my wife opened the bedroom door and softly said "Marky, I think there's going to be a war". I'll never forget the look on her face. We both sat down on the couch and were glued to the TV. What we were seeing was just unbelievable...
For the next few months, everything seemed different. On the roads, people were more patient with one another. In the stores, folks seemed friendlier. It was the first time I can recall seeing a noticeable shift in the demeanor of the general population. It's like there was this common bond that we all shared. We were all Americans, and we all suffered at the hands of an unknown force. For what now sometimes feels like the last time, we were truly the United States.
We say, "Never Forget", but it would seem that the first to do just that has been our so-called "leaders". Not only that, but they appear to not only want us to forget, but to have the next generation not learn the history of it. Acknowledge it as an "incident", and nothing more. I can only hope and pray that the general population knows better than to do that.

I watched an interview with her a few days ago. You could see that she is still moved by that day, and what her assignment was. I can't imagine what that must have felt like to know what it meant...
I remember getting a phone call from my girl friend and her telling me someone flew a plane into the World Trade Center. I remember saying that was dumb thinking it was some fool in his personal plane. Once she explained it I went and watched the news, saw the second plane hit, saw the towers come down, went and filled my gas tank.
Hard to believe it was 25 years ago. I find it strange that in my mind, I see my life as "pre" and "post" 9/11. It definitely is two different existences, much the same way COVID changed everything 19 years later...

My life has pretty much stayed the same, I didn't fly much before 9/11 and less than a handful of time since.
Same as Covid, what chaps my rear is every apologist and snow flake we have grown in the last 25 year's.......
I've been called racist and such because of my stance on Islam and Muslims. It doesn't bother me as I just shrug it off.
I am afraid our nation is so divided now it will never be repaired and I think both political parties are happy with that.
