Until I save up enough money for some new wheels I was curious what I could use to paint my stock wheels black? Any recommendations on paint that lasts a while? Thanks
 
I’ve done this before on my brothers car and I worked pretty well. I started with a lot of sanding and wire wheeling to get a good surface and then used some high heat primer from Lowe’s and after sanding that put some black autopaint and a good few coats of clear coat all from Lowe’s. It was pretty cheap and it’s been on about a year he just re applies some clear coat every few months to be safe but if you wanted it more professional I would use some Eastwood wheel paint it’s a bit more expensive and you gotta wait for shipping but I’ve used some of their stuff on my frame and body and it works really well if you do it right. Just remember it’s all about the prep or it won’t work well.

Awesome thanks for the advice! I will definitely check out Lowe’s for some of that black automotive paint and clear coat.

Duplicolor wheel paint works well. The key to a good job is the preparation.
