Crank / No Start: 2000 Wrangler 4.0

I really doubt it’s the fuel pump like I have tried a few tests and the fuel pump seems okay, however the mechanics insist it’s the fuel pump. When it’s about to turn off I hit the gas but no affect, it also starts backfiring through the intake.

Fuel pump? I'm more concerned about the oil pump, your gauge right there shows low pressure.

If there's anything concerning fuel you can put in a fuel pressure tester just to check but as @Daryl suggested and as you confirmed throwing in some starting fluid doesn't improve anything. That's one less reason to suspect fuel pressure but there's more of a reason to suspect oil pressure as evidenced by your video.

Just to chime in, I too have a 2000 4.0. 21-22 psi hot idle, 50-55 driving warmed up.

OP, do you recall your oil pressure when you first got the Jeep? Was it like it is now or higher? Whenever I hear low oil pressure + the 0031 head, I get a pit in my stomach. Likely has nothing to do with your fuel problem, but that oil pressure is something to be concerned about if a new sending unit doesn't solve the problem.

It was 20 idle and 40 driving

Okay went to a new mechanic before I was supposed to go to my old one to change the oil pump, AGAIN. He told me it’s not a fuel issue had me turn it on and started playing with the wires and he found a spot near the ignition and throttle body where if you even touch it or move it a little it starts to die and if you pull it really fast it shuts off immediately, the oil pressure could be related to the pig tail if the oil sending unit, it is kind of scraped and damaged. He even said I could change the wires myself, however I’ve never done this and am a bit hesitant about doing it, could some one explain the process of changing them? it’s just a short amount of wires.

Do you have a picture of what part you're talking about?
Yes sorry. When that white connecter is pulled it turns on right away however when it’s plugged in it doesn’t. He said because it pulls on the wiring that’s messed up, which makes sense to me and the top picture is where he wants me to cut from

That's your TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) connector. I am trying to do some quick Google-fu and can't find one except for one that needs to be assembled (crimped). I honestly don't know what that entails and if it's easily done or requires special tools, etc. I've done basic wiring around home and for vehicles but never assembled a connector itself usually just wired it in.

Otherwise putting it back on shouldn't be too hard but you will either need to solder the connectors (harder, but best method) or use some wire stripper that should have a small divot to crimp those connectors for you.

I'll see if I can't find a connector that's already assembled. You could always go junk yard searching! That part changes in 2001 though so any 4.0 from before then on a YJ, TJ or XJ might do the job.
