Anyone ever had their carpet and seats done at an upholstery shop?

I live in LA. So upholstery shops are a dime a dozen here. I found a reputable place a couple years ago here. That would do an entire VW bug interior for $1400 with original german vinyl. Including laying down my own sound mat. I can only assume a Jeep would be even cheaper. No headliner etc. etc. Just seats and carpet really.

I know shops like this are far more expensive outside of the cheap textiles and labor world of Los Angeles. But thinking about getting an estimate for my carpet and seats. And using some better carpet and fabric than stock. The stock materials seem to be pretty thin in my '99 TJ. Maybe do the seats in faux leather or leather or just vinyl. Or maybe some nicer cloth. Not sure what that would be - denim? And maybe some more hardcore industrial carpet.

Using stock seat covers and a stock carpet set (Iggee $250 and carpet set $200?) would probably run me $500 after all said and done. That seems like it would go a ways towards a custom Jeep interior. With better materials. Would probably even have the seat foam upgraded. Wondering if I should look for newer style seats that might bolt right in? (Not interested in something that would have to have custom welded mounts.) Any suggestions or are used seats just to much money?

Anyone used an upholstery shop? Got any pics?

Ever thought about buying TJ seats ?
What’s wrong with yours ? Are they ripped?
Some guys do interior cleaning that might be an option to clean your seats.
As for the carpet you can take it out and head over to the $1 car wash and pressure wash it. Or I think it’s Bedrug that sells good tj carpet

If you want to look for seats I know Icars.net have tj seats. They sell and fix Jeeps in Burbank. Their prices are a bit expensive though for used TJ parts
This is a link to a pair of tj seats they have I’m sure they have more

A carpet cleaner with a wand attachment does wonders for the seats. After cleaning you can use fabric 303 on them.

If you're looking for something different or better have you considered aftermarket seats?

@moab most people just change the seat out for aftermarket. But i have considered having mine re upholstered but i just bought seat covers.

If you can get it done for a good price it would be nice to update the fabric to something that looks better.

It's not a cleaning issue. The carpets and seats are just thread bare. Not actually. But close to it. The drivers seat vinyl has a split in it. And the general appearance is pretty rough. The front sides are all balled up from wear. And look like crap. Not to mention those awful color choices Jeep made back when. I couldn't even tell you what color fabric is on my seats. Think it's some sort of Navajo blanket pattern (which sounds a whole lot cooler than it looks). LOL! With orange colors in it. (shaking head) And my back seat is aftermarket I think. It has a name on it. And it's a completely different color from my front seats.

TJ2 - Ya. We are lucky for some stuff. Upholstery is one. I'll call them next week. And see what a Jeep would cost to have done. It can't be much. I'm thinking $800+. Maybe a bit more or less.

I just know I don't want to replace the carpet with what's in there. It's stock and very thin and cheap. I'd love some industrial black with white flecks. I have no idea what it's called. But I know it when I see it. I had some in the back of Samurai back in the day.

Thank you! $150?! I can deal with that. I think I might just go that route. And then just have them match the rear seat and do the carpet over sound deadener.

Do any of you know if the brackets are the same on seats 97-07?

If those just bolt in. I'm down. Can't believe I have not seen those on CL before. I cruise that place daily. And have saved searches with notifications for almost all Jeep parts.

No problem that’s what I’m here for.
I’m not Postive if the fronts are the same through 97-06. I know forsure the rear seat brackets are not all the same.
I’m also in LA specifically South Gate.
PM me if your ever looking for parts I’ll help you find them.

97-02 and 03-06 have different seats from the factory. I can’t remeber if it’s just seat height that’s different or if it’s belts and mounting holes too though. I’m 99% sure the mounts are different.

Don't know the years for sure. But the early tjs have higher/taller brackets.

03+ front seats set lower and IMO are more comfortable. Actually, my TJ seats are some of the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in, sans my RV seats. Back seat is different too, with a fold/tumble difference. I wouldn't hesitate to have mine reupholstered.

So these are 03-06? Anyone ever attempt to put them in a 97-02?
