So after a few years in storage due to the 2 new additions to the family. I pulled out one of my TJ's from storage. I noticed the clutch felt really awkward. This has been started up and moved around a bit over the years of storage also. I assumed the slave cylinder was leaking or was in need of a bleed. I removed the slave cylinder and found a bunch of weird material. Knowing right away that this was a mouse nest I began to pull out the weird fiber, grassy, crap. Upon further diagnosis and removing the cover on the bellhousing, it was with no choice that the trans needed to be pulled to properly clean and inspect this attack on my driveline. Here is what i found. Obviously with this torn apart a new clutch and all clutch, bearings, and flywheel parts were ordered to be replaced. Ive seen alot of mouse nests, nothing like this. I thought it was worth a share.

Well I was aggravated with repeated mice nests in my riding lawnmower engine which when keeping it from starting several times was probably better than making it run hot.

I guess either way was better than what you ended up with.

Oh man, too bad you couldn't start it up while they were all inside of there.

I fucking hate mice, rats, and rodents in general.

I hear you...although I did not have to do anything major to fix...this is what I found when I bought my TJ and replaced the air filter. I drove it this way from Philadelphia to Long Island (3 hours) and did not notice any performance or over heating issues.

Mice...buggers...I ruined a lawn mower engine because of a mouse nest behind the cooling tins once...It still ran, but was never the same. They got in one of my stored motorcycles once too...their shit and piss ruined the aluminum...

I now keep mothballs inside my Corvette and Triumph in the winter....a bunch of years ago my Corvette would not pass smog, as my mechanic was going through possibilities he removed the air cleaner cover to find a huge nest. Pulled it out and everything dropped into range.

When I lived in Albuquerque, mice liked to live under our hot tub. I got tired of putting traps and poison under it, so I put a bowl of antifreeze underneath. Problem solved.

Yikes! I've never found rodents or their nests in my TJ, but I did find a nest of angry wasps under it when I bought it..

I'm pretty sure my house was built on top of a massive ant colony or something. When we get the first big rain of the fall, without fail, the ants show up in the kitchen. This has happened for like 5 years

I keep dryer sheets inside the jeep but might try moth balls for the outside. The urine actually did pit the aluminum.

Rats ate into my wife’s Lincoln MKX tranny wires ....not good....soy based wire sheathing seems to attract them.

That is unreal man. Hope that’s far as they got.
