Looking for suggestions on a louder horn

I don't think that a dashcam would have done any good in this instance. She pulled out alongside me and just kept coming over. By the time she was in front of me, I was off the road. Elderly lady who drives a late 80s full size Chevy conversion van.

What you need is a nice loud ahooga horn. It's so dorky and different it gets people's attention. Plus when you hit it rolling in to camp or into your buddy's driveway there is no doubt which fool just showed up.

So I finally got my new horns installed in the Jeep. I bought these from Amazon.

Here's the stock horn:

New ones: ( I did leave the stock horn installed.) Thought if two are better than one three are better than two.

I got the hi/low set of horns out of the Dodge Magnum installed the other day. Much better and will work for now. I still have an oogah horn on the to do list. I'll run it on a second horn circuit though.

The oohgah horn died on me, but the Dodge Magnum ones that came out of my daughter's old car are still working great long after the rest of the car went to the scrapper.

Even though my response is a bit belated, I wanted to say that I completely understand your concern! Catching the attention of other drivers is crucial on the road. I recently upgraded my car's horn for the same reason.

Thank you for sharing.

Some of the air horns posted seemed like good options. All I have to say is if you're installing a full on commercial vehicle air horn it better be only used in a life or death scenario/to avoid an accident that could have caused injury. The city horn should still be working properly for those situations where a person doesn't realize it turned green. I knew a guy once who had a CMV air horn on his pick up truck and he would blow it just to scare people and get attention. Those people deserve to be in a certain ring of hell.

Actually I ended up getting a drill train horn from https://bosshorn.com/, and I must say, it's been a fantastic addition. The quality and selection there are top-notch, and the sound is impressively powerful. Installation was a breeze, and now, I never go unnoticed on the road. So, if you're looking for an effective and attention-grabbing solution, I highly recommend it!

You keep a handheld drill horn in the vehicle??
Never seen these before….got trouble written all over it 🤣
