I have a black '04 Sport. It came with those ugly 15" steel wheels.

I just picked up 5 16" oem MOAB wheels this past weekend. Should I keep the wheels silver or paint them gunmetal/graphite color? Anybody painted their stock wheels? If so, any advice on how-to and which spray-paint to use? I am trying to stay away from plasti-dip. TIA!

Following! I'm about to pic up a set of moabs, and I will be painting Moab. Found A few pics on Google of painted Moab rims, but nothing in detail.

I painted mine. I bought them all beat up and so I sanded them down, fixed some gouges, and painted them. I used Duplicolor wheel primer, paint, and gloss clear. Scuff between the 3. Don’t go too thick on the paint or it will chip at the center when they balance them. Been about a year and they are holding up well. I used the silver color.

I've done a couple sets. I did a set of JK moabs in Duplicolor Gunmetal rattle cans. Someone had plasti-dipped them...poorly. This was ready to prime. I used some 320 grit to get to this stage.

Then...I found a set of Pintlers...for cheap. Pintlers are my all time favorite wheel so it was back to the shop. Same process...cleaned up and ready to prime...

I used a slightly different paint on these. I went with Duplicolor Paint shop Paint. It lacquer, pre-mixed. I mixed my own color as close to the AEV argent that I could. I used Black and Metallic Silver. Ended up being 2:1 Black to Silver ratio. I think they turned out pretty nice.
