Sorry for the rant. I have been restoring my 03 UAE TJ which was poorly lifted by a previous owner. It has been coming along quite nicely thanks to tons of TLC and lots of the wisdom here. Back in August I ordered a SYE plus a Tom Woods driveshaft from Quadratech. The drive shaft shipped 10 days after the SYE (back order) and arrived over a month after the SYE. As I get my mail via the military, it is not odd for parcels to take in excess of a month to arrive. I also ordered upper and lower adjustable control arms (no expense spared). I have an annoying drivetrain vibration that new tires and all the math and geometry could not solve. I finally brought it to a shop yesterday for them to diagnose. The verdict came in. The drive shaft has an elliptical rotation. Okay, I felt a lot better. Seems I can still do math and geometry whilst I twist a wrench. My relief was short lived. I contacted Quatratech and they politely offered to review my warranty request with supplied video of the affliction. My request was immediately declined because the warranty is 180 days from order date (I received it about 160 days ago and installed it about 120 days ago). Also, they said it was obviously dented from impact because the paint is flaking off. The paint is indeed coming off, but this DS has never been impacted and only has about 500 miles on it. It runs over smooth pavement and desert sand. There are no scrapes or dents whatsoever and it has never traveled over a rock. The paint is just flaking away in patches. If I had damaged a component I would honestly suck it up and replace it at my own expense. I do not even warranty lifetime warranted tools that I break due to over taxing. I am not a saint, but also not a thief or con man. I am not trying to disparage a vender. But they have absolutely no trust in me or the calendar so why should I have the slightest trust in their integrity? BTW, the car wash I use puts the vehicle in the air and pressure washes the underside. I think the wash is taking the paint off, or it could be just another quality control defect. Disappointing. These guys are supposed to be our people. Tom Wood may produce a good product, but not the one they shipped me late.

Doesn’t Tom Woods have a lifetime warranty on their stuff (edit: not correct). I would at least give them a call and explain they are very helpful on the phone.

Edit: ahh I see so they have the 180 day. Were you discussing with Quadratech or TW?

X2. Call Tom Woods directly. They bend over backwards to make things right. Hell, I sent them a drive shaft from a competitor for diagnosis and they balanced it better and didn't charge me a dime.

Did that drive shaft come with Tom Woods stickers? I really have a hard time believing that a TW shaft would be that screwed up (but, sometimes poo happens). If it is Tom's, they will likely take care of you if you contact them. If it turns out it's not one of theirs, Quadratec has a lot to answer for.

Thank you for the advice. I have sent a letter to TW. I do not recall any Tom Woods decals, but I don't doubt that it is theirs. Sadly QT will use the USPS and many vendors do not so I was forced to get in bed with them. No more.
